Capitalization’ คือการใช้ตัวอักษรพิมพ์ใหญ่ในภาษาอังกฤษ เช่น A แทน a ซึ่งถือว่ามีความจำเป็นและมีประโยชน์อย่างมากในภาษาอังกฤษเลยล่ะ เพราะมันทำให้ไม่เกิดข้อสับสนทั้งในการเขียนและการอ่าน

#1 คำแรกในประโยค

#3 อักษรตัวแรกของคำนามชื่อเฉพาะ

– This letter is from Chang.

– She likes Godiva chocolates.

#4 อักษรตัวแรกของวัน,เดือน และวันหยุด (แต่ไม่ใช้กับฤดูกาล)

– Today is June 8, 2011.

– Susie’s birthday is this Thursday.

– The shops are closed on Easter.

#5 อักษรตัวแรกของเชื้อชาติ, ศาสนา, เผ่าพันธุ์, ผู้คนและภาษา

– We often eat Italian food.

#6 อักษรตัวแรกของคำนำหน้าชื่อ

– This is Dr Simon.

– I got it from Mr Tom.

#7 ชื่อพื้นที่ทางภูมิศาสตร์: เมือง, รัฐ, ประเทศ, ภูเขา, แม่น้ำ, มหาสมุทร ฯลฯ

– My destination is Paris, France.

– Hawaii is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

#8 ช่วงเวลาในประวัติศาสตร์

The Renaissance began in the 14th century.

The Qing Dynasty is the last dynasty in China.

#9 อักษรแรกของคำหลักแต่ละคำของชื่อหนังสือ, ภาพยนตร์, เพลง หรือบทความ ฯลฯ

– Tolstoy’s War and Peace is my favourite novel.

– I found the article “How to Write a Good Cover Letter” in this magazine.
